Meet Your Clinician

Hi, I'm Ashley!

DCS_0361.png

I opened my own private Clinical Herbalism practice in 2020 after looking deep inside myself and realizing that the marriage of herbal medicine and science is my passion (pandemics and lockdowns give you a lot of time to think). In addition to studying herbalism, I currently write about it and educate others. Prior to practicing as a clinical herbalist, I spent over a decade as a nurse working in a variety of clinical settings, providing both inpatient and outpatient care. As part of my practice and philosophy, I strive to both educate and heal my clients, empowering them to live better and healthier lives.

My approach is a collaborative one. I work with you to develop a holistic plan to help you achieve your goals. And if necessary, I can also work with your primary care practitioner. Keeping you and your family in the best health is a team effort. This means looking out for your body, mind and spirit.  If you need a positive, energetic, and caring Western Herbal Practitioner, please don’t hesitate to reach out to find out how I can help you optimize yourself.

Why the Name Aja Holistic Health?

Aja is an Orisha, one of the sacred goddesses of the Yoruba People. Her realms are the forests and all the animals in it. In Yoruba tradition, she is the deity who is the keeper of all botany secrets and a master herbalist, using potions and herbs to heal. She shares her knowledge freely with those who wish to learn, teaching those called to her many natural medicine skills that some still practice today.

If you are particularly skilled, it is said that she will manifest herself as the wild wind and carry you away to teach you more in-depth mysteries before returning you home once more.

Aja Holistic Health is named in her honor.
